Recently, Eric Clapton has become one of the most recognized celebrities in the fight against COVID-19 lockdowns, restrictions, and mandatory vaccinations. Clapton was tentative and questioning the vaccine as he was terrified of being ostracized for his views and struggled with whether or not to keep his mouth shut.
Clapton educated himself as he researched The Barrington Group, made up of renown doctors such as Dr. Sunetra Gupta, Dr. Michael Kulldorff and Dr. Jay Battacharya. These doctors were against lockdowns and mandatory vaccines. In the end he chose to get the jab even though it scared the holy hell out of him. The first Jab made him extremely sick for a week. The second dose made him experience extreme neuropathy in his hands making his hands go numb for about 3 weeks. As one can imagine that is terrifying for one of the greatest guitar players of our time. He has stated he does not want to have the booster shot that may come this fall – he is too afraid to get it. He is too afraid the neuropathy will become permanent resulting in the end of his career while stripping away his passion.
He decided to speak out because he believes the vaccine is a personal choice not a mandatory one. When British Prime Minister Boris Johnson stated that starting in September, concert halls and stadiums would require fans to provide proof of being vaccinated against the coronavirus before being allowed to attend events, it prompted Clapton to share his beliefs and to stand up for our freedom stating that; “Following the PM’s announcement on Monday the 19th of July 2021 I feel honour bound to make an announcement of my own: I wish to say that I will not perform on any stage where there is a discriminated audience present. Unless there is provision made for all people to attend, I reserve the right to cancel the show.”
Clapton recently released his music video “This Has Gotta Stop” The music video shows nameless people as puppets on a string and being shown the “The Vaccine Carrot” (Which, by the way was an article I had written back in May 2021.) Enjoy the video!
